Lock Your Cars!

Recently a neighbor on Taloza Ct spotted a hooded individual with gloves on trying to get into their car parked in their driveway, after they were spotted in the next-door neighbor's driveway.  The suspected thieves ran to their white car (possibly a Dodge or Nissan) with one headlight and no plates.  They were chased out of the neighborhood and Cobb County Police were called.  The Police said to call back if they are seen again.  Here is their non-emergency number:  770-499-3911.

They did not get anything this time, but let's not give these thieves any reason to target our neighborhood.  Keep your valuables out of cars at night and keep your cars locked.  You should keep all your doors locked, including garage doors, during the day even if you work from home or are a stay-at-home parent.

Be safe and help keep our neighborhood safe!

Coyote Update

Dear Neighbors:

There have been sounds of coyotes in our neighborhood that last few days.  I just wanted to alert those of you with small pets, to keep the close and indoors at night.  Several cats have gone missing within the last year.  Please keep your animals safe from coyote attacks by keeping them in a well fenced area or indoors.  If you keep your garbage cans tightly covered and bird/squirrel food out of their reach, they are more likely to move out of a yard quickly.  According to news articles from last year, they are most likely following the stream that runs through our neighborhood.
Thank you for your cooperation and stay safe!

Dear Neighbors:

How to help the neighborhood:

1.  How much would you be willing to donate for lawn maintenance for the front of the subdivision each year?  If every homeowner donated $20 every year, the more than $1400 collected would be more than enough to pay for weed control, mulch and grass cutting/edging for the whole year.

2.  How would you be willing to pay?  Would you be interested in paying directly to the ICHOA bank account via check/cash; paypal?

3.  Are you interested in helping organize a neighborhood yard sale

4.  Are you interested in volunteering your time to mow or edge the front of the subdivision once or twice a year?  If everyone did it once or twice, it would save us a lot of money.  We could use a volunteer website to sign everyone up for a time to help out.

We (your neighbors) really want to know your thoughts and ideas.  Please respond to contact@indiancreekha.org.

Thank you and look forward to seeing you at the Block Party on Saturday, October 26th!

Dear Neighborhood,

Trick-or-Treating party

Halloween is near.  Are you ready?!  I know some of you can't wait for this fun time of year.  Would you like to share your enthusiasm with your neighbors?

I propose a gathering at the end of Inola Trl in the cul de sac.  We could have games for kids, candy and costumes.  We discussed it briefly at the last party and thought 6 pm on October 26th would be a good time for a party.

If you have any thoughts or suggestions, please let me know at contact@indiancreekha.org .

Thanks again to all those who showed their support at the last party.  For those of you who were not able to come, here is your next opportunity.  Even if you want to just come for a minute to introduce yourself or say "Hi!", you are welcome.

So, next event is:

When:  Saturday, October 26th at 6 pm (unless I get suggestions for a better time.)
Where:  Inola Trl and Keota Run - in the cul de sac
What:  Neighborhood Party
Bring:  Food, Drinks, Games and Fun

We had a great turn out at the Neighborhood Picnic on Sunday!  We missed seeing many of our neighbors, long-time residents and new.  We ate, drank and watched the kids get wet.
Thank you to everyone who came out to socialize and discuss our neighborhood.  And a special thanks to those who donated to our lawn maintenance funds.  Your donations will go a long way.  We still need a bit more, to make it through the year, and hope more of our neighbors will be able to help.  Remember that donating your time is just as helpful as any monetary donations.

We still need red wood chips/mulch for the shrubs on the corner and around the trees.  Maybe the next time you go to Home Depot/Lowes you could pick up a bag of Scotts EarthGro Red Mulch.  If you leave the bag at the front, I will be happy to spread it out.  If we get just 15 people to donate a bag, that would probably cover everything.  Thank you!

Halloween Party/Trick-or-Treating:  We plan to have another get-together next month, October 26th, to discuss more plans for the front landscaping and keeping our neighborhood safe and friendly.  We would love to start a tradition of having our kids staying in our neighborhood to trick-or-treat.  This time the party will be either at the front of the subdivision on the grass, or on the Inola side of the neighborhood.  If you have any thoughts or ideas, please let me know.

Be careful around the hornets nest in the tree at 4192 Nowata Dr, the stop sign at Nowata Dr and Catoosa Trl.  Hopefully they will have this removed soon!

Thank you again for showing your support for Indian Creek!

Dear Neighbors:

Let's begin the fall season with a Neighborhood get-together!  I will start taking suggestions for dates and places (either Inola or Taloza).  Sometime in September would be great!  Please send all suggestions to contact@indiancreekha.org

I have included the most recent financial statements for 2013.  (Please bear with me, as I am not an accountant.) You will see that only a handful of people are giving to help pay for the upkeep of the front of the subdivision.  We definitely need more financial assistance or labor assistance.  I will be happy to hand out deposit slips or to give you the account number so that you may make the deposit directly to the account.  I think we have done a good job with keeping the grass cut and edged.

We can plan on having a meeting at the neighborhood party to discuss any future projects for the subdivision.  You can participate as little or as much as you like, however, we do need assistance with keeping the grass cut and edged.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you!
